"Multi-Manager" Investment Approach for MPF Scheme
BCT is an independent trustee, with no relationship or associations with other fund management firms by way of ownership or partnership. Our independence allows us to enjoy the flexibility in objectively choosing the best available fund managers, based on their track records and demonstrated investment capabilities. Our "multi-manager" investment approach, which blends the expertise of different fund managers with different investment philosophies, allows you to enjoy professional investments management of your assets.
Currently, BCT has 7 independent global fund managers managing our members' MPF funds. The "multi-manager" investment approach is taken with three of the constituent funds in our master trust scheme, with each of the three funds being managed by four fund managers. By blending investment styles and expertise from world-class fund managers into a single fund, these funds are designed to achieve risk diversification and consistent optimal investment returns.
Performance Monitoring
A team of portfolio analysts keeps a regular check on BCT's roster of fund managers, monitoring their investment strategies and studying their market perspectives with a view to enhancing their investment procedures and fund performance. In the past, some of BCT's funds received awards for their outstanding performance from Lipper, an international fund research and rating organisation.
(B) Third Party Trustee / Administration Services for Pension Plans and Global Investment Funds
BCT has been providing trustee / custodian / administration services for third party schemes and funds since 2000. Catering for both pension schemes and the investment fund industry, our administration services – including record keeping, fund valuation, preparation of financial statements and filing of regulatory reports – for schemes and funds are highly cost-effective.
MPF / ORSO Schemes & International Pension Plans
By outsourcing trustee / administration work to BCT, pension plan sponsors can transfer relevant statutory obligations to a professional corporate trustee and enjoy value-added services for the company as well as the employees. Our employer and member websites provide the necessary information for them to better manage their retirement accounts. Members can execute fund switching instruction via the website, reducing the time taken for fund switching, while for sponsors, our system and operation model support multi-manager platform and shorten the time to market for enhancement required. Besides providing benefit statements, BCT promotes investor education through various channels such as briefings and seminars. To help employers better understand how their staff manage retirement assets, we offer reports such as investment behaviour analysis of members within a specific company so that improvements can be made. More importantly, with our focus on third party scheme services, our clients can enjoy economy of scale, and the cost payable by each scheme or employer sponsor is therefore relatively low.
Global Investment Funds
With global investment administration capability and proven track record in administering sizeable and complex investment funds, BCT is able to generate greater synergy with fund managers whose strengths and core competency lie in global capability for investment management. Together with a flexible and robust IT platform and extensive experience in the market, BCT can calculate net asset value and unit price for unit trusts and mutual funds accurately and efficiently, which adds to the attaining and maintaining of customer confidence. BCT is experienced in the administration of Hong Kong and offshore investment funds with multi-layer, multi-class, multi-currency and multi-manager structure, while also having the capability to administer QFII funds.
