Commitment to the Community
Being a responsible business serves as the foundation of everything we do. Success runs both ways, and in order for us to be successful, we must enrich our community, empower our employees and protect the environment we live in. BCT considers Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) a key element in our business and operations.
Since 2003, BCT has been recognised as a Caring Company, which is awarded to companies that integrate care for the community, employees and the environment into their business practices. As citizens of our community, we understand that BCT is more than just a business, but an organisation that can ignite positive changes in the lives of our employees, our clients, our city, and our environment.
BCT Next Academy
With our strong commitment Corporate Social Responsibility, BCT is dedicated to helping Hong Kong people build a better retirement life. We established “BCT Third Age Academy” in 2009 to promote lifelong learning to people retiring from their roles at work or household duties.
In 2017, we renamed the academy to “BCT Next Academy”, expanding the servicing group to all working adults. We encourage people to make self-improvement through learning.
To promote and encourage continuing education and lifelong learning; and to help Hong Kong people equip themselves for their ideal retirement.
Eagerness to Learn Learning Discovery
We encourage continuing education and lifelong learning among people at different life stages. Therefore, we collaborate with Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional and Continuing Education, OUHK and offer tuition fee sponsorships for designated courses. We collaborate with various organisations and professionals, and organize seminars for the public to gain knowledge and improve themselves.
BCT Volunteer Work
The CSR Committee
In 2003, BCT formed a volunteer team comprising staff from various departments, who is tasked to discover, initiate new volunteer programmes and strengthen our culture of giving back to the community. The team also serves as a way for our colleagues to communicate ideas for how to enhance and enrich our CSR initiatives. We partner with different NGOs to serve those in need.
In 2006, the committee was split into sub-groups that focused on the needs of different areas: youth development, enriching the lives of the elderly, creating an employee-friendly workplace, environmental protection and giving.
